About Robyn

Robyn C. Scates, Esq. founded Scates Legal Group in 2001 where she represents and provides counsel to clients on matters pertaining to personal injury, family law, corporate law, contract law and estates and trust. She has her Bachelor of Arts from Morgan State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland and is currently a PhD candidate at Walden University.

From 2003 to 2004, Robyn served as the president of the Alliance of Black Woman Attorneys where she launched the first high school scholarship program and first annual award ceremony to recognize outstanding female attorneys in Maryland which is now held annually. She currently serves on the board of directors for the University of Baltimore, Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics and The Mobile Shoebox.

Robyn is a fierce advocate for child welfare and youth empowerment issues and is the founder and CEO of PROUD1, a non-profit that teaches adults and youth how to be successful in business and everyday life. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with, and mentoring, the next generation of young attorneys as an adjunct professor at both the University of Baltimore and Morgan State University.

Over the past ten years, Robyn has established herself as a renowned motivational speaker due to her ability to inspire individuals and organizations towards the realization of their personal and professional goals. She is passionate about helping people achieve their true potential while simultaneously balancing the demands of career and family and has written, Bringing Peace into Your Inner Sanctuary, which guides people to achieve the inner equilibrium critical to success.

Robyn is the host of her own national motivational radio show on blogtalkradio and Radio One. She also has been a featured guest on CBS Radio. She has twice been named on the list of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record.

She lives with her husband, Terry, and two sons in Maryland.
